When Should a Pinblock Be Replaced?

The pinblock is one of the key structural components that directly affects the tuning stability of a piano or grand piano.
Replacement is recommended when:

  • the instrument no longer holds its tuning for long periods,
  • the tuning pin holes have become enlarged or damaged,
  • cracks appear within the pinblock wood.

At SAP Renovation, we offer three types of high-quality pinblocks designed to extend the instrument’s lifespan and enhance its tonal performance:

1. Pisz Pinblock (Poland) – multi-layered beech wood
A Polish-made, multi-layered beech pinblock crafted from premium-grade wood.
It is characterized by excellent tuning stability and strong resistance to humidity variations, ensuring long-lasting tuning precision.
An ideal solution for instruments requiring a solid and reliable pinblock.

2. Delignit Pinblock (Germany) – multi-layered beech wood
The German-made Delignit pinblock, produced by a renowned manufacturer, consists of numerous layers of beech wood.
Thanks to advanced production technology, it offers exceptional structural stability and resistance to environmental changes.
It is an excellent choice for demanding instruments, guaranteeing precise and durable tuning.

3. Bolduc Pinblock (Canada) – five-layer maple wood
The Canadian Bolduc pinblock is built from five layers of hard, densely grained maple.
Its robust construction ensures outstanding tuning stability and resilience against temperature and humidity fluctuations.
It is the preferred choice of professional piano technicians and manufacturers worldwide.
