Piano restoration - Case
Case restoration includes:
- stripping off the old varnish or French polish
- veneer, carvings, marquetry repair
- repairs of broken elements
- case polishing
- varnishing / varnishing with polishing or application of natural, shellac French polish
- repair of existing metal parts
- change of the case colour either by veneering or by chosen colours available at RAL table
- additional non-standard service according to the customer's wish
Piano restoration - Acoustic
Acoustic restoration includes:
- drying, shimming, bleaching and revarnishing of the soundboard or installation of new Ciresa/Strunz soundboard
- reproduction of the original logo on the soundboard
- restoration of bass and violin bridge top / new bridge top / new bridges
- replacement of trebleand bass strings
- iron frame varnishing
- tuning pin replacement
- pinblock replacement
- tuning and intonation
Piano restoration - Action
Action restoration includes
- restoration or replacement of moving parts
- replacement of worn out felts, leather and cashmere
- replacement of damper lever centre pin
- installation of new hammers and shanks
- damper restoration and regulation
- action regulation
- keyboard cleaning
- key rebushing with cashmere or leather
- set key height
- sharps varnishing
- ivory key restoration or new plexi key covers
- at customer's wish: new keyboard / action of finest producers: Steinway & Sons, Renner, Kluge
Piano restoration - non-standard commissions
Non-standard commissions includes
- Installation of new back frame in upright pianos:
- cabinet disassembly
- new back frame installation
- cabinet and new back frame fitting
- cabinet restoration
- Conversion of Steinway Ex Player pianos: cabinet adjustment and new keyboard installation. Only a highly qualified technician would be able to tell the difference between a standard Steinway and a converted Ex Player one.
- Conversion of Bösendorfer pianos: from Vienna mechanism into English system
- "Half upright piano" restoration: only half of the piano is restored in order to emphasize the contrast between the instrument before and after renovation. This service is very much appreciated by our customers.
